Totally New Experience

 I have made a crucial decision. I have decided, through no fault of my own, that I am going to put my Metazoic book online. Totally online. Instead of publishing a physical book. It's not entirely my decision. You can thank Microsoft for it because Bill Gates is so fucking retarded! I usually use MS Publisher to create documents. It's the best program for me because I love using multiple layout designs and I use a LOT of graphics. This makes such programs as Word not a good choice to write my books with. It's a shame too. I was going to put my new AI images in the book. But one thing, putting the book on this website gives me the opportunity to also post videos that I made to demonstrate some of these animals in motion. So that's one good thing! But Publisher is no longer supported at all in MS Office. So, unless I can find a different desktop publishing program that is just as good as Publisher, I'll have to post my book up on this site.

The one thing I just cannot seem to figure out is should I keep the book here, or should I utilize the WordPress website that I was offered with the creation of metazoica.world? That would be the new domain for the newest version of Metazoica. There, I can still post pictures, and blog posts with different ideas. And I can also have my pages of mammals of the Metazoic. I'm still working on the AI images and let me tell you, they look GOOD!!!!! Even I am impressed! AI does the drawings and colorings much better than I ever could. Not that I am that bad at drawing. But I think I am beginning to lose that skill with age. Or I don't really feel like doing it much anymore. Fortunately, some of the mammals I have on this site look a lot like modern animals, so it's easy to tell AI to just like generate a picture of a rat doing this, or that, then ask it to make some tweaks. Yeah, I know that's lazy of me! But it gets the job done a lot faster!

I haven't even decided if I want to put the site behind a paywall. That too is an option on the table. I keep getting messages from someone who wants me to put the checklist back up, and I couldn't do it because I had it hosted on Google docs, and for some reason I'd get notices that someone wants access to the file, and that I'd need to change the share options, which I did try, but it seemed to always fail. I got tired of that, so I put the document in book form. I charge for it because the publisher charges me for it every time someone buys a copy. It is updated every year. I try to keep it updated. But maybe if I can get my website, I can put it up on there. Maybe even have an option available for visitors to be able to print the page, there's still that feature. Who knows? There's lots of great ideas for the site to make this a better project.

Iridescent Animals Exist

 I remember a few years ago, someone (who I still respect very highly), told me it was impossible for iridescence to exist in mammals. Since that time, I've discovered that some mammals can indeed have iridescent fur. Thanks to this article I found, I found out it's indeed possible. Notice the pic, of a vlei rat ( Otomys ) is shimmering colors of green, purple and blue.  That's not the only one. There are MANY mammals that have such a feature. Here's a few more... Akhal-teke horse. Golden mole. Polar bear. And there are also several species of mammals that glow... Tube-nosed bat. Flying squirrel. Platypus. Springhaas . In the Metazoic, I just simply take this to a little more extreme. With creatures like Cercolampis ( Pentadactyls, Pileatidae ). They sparkle like glitter, which allows them to hide from overhead predators, like predatory pteropods and eagles.
