Apology and Thanks

I wanted to take this moment to make a public apology to one person who I insulted on this blog, Venatosaurus. This is ONLY for Venatosaurus...

Venatosaurus, I am truly sorry that I hurt your feelings. I hope your project does good. Please forgive me.

I also wanted to thank Katrina publicly for not taking her own personal feelings for JohnFaa to the SE forum, and telling it to him like it is on his blog. WTG Katrina!!!!

I've still retracted my apologies from Viergacht as he has admitted he has autism and needs help. I will say I do feel sorry for him though, and I hope he can get the help he needs. Which is why I am not sorry, but I will not attack him anymore, I am not the type to attack people with mental problems. Poor guy.

    Don't retract your apology for Viergacht because he has autism. Rather, retract it because he refuses to accept it, and is still smearing the both of us on the SE forum (and refers to me as you).

    As for Venatosaurus, I too apologized, but it was before this post, and is down in the comments board of the previous post regarding the SE forum. I hope your project does well too. In fact, as I have stated before, I cannot wait to see your indricothere-like deer.

    Well, I would have done it that way, but I didn't really care if he had accepted my apology or not. I didn't do it for him, I did it to clear my conscience.

    But the apology I made to Venatosaurus is not like that! That one came from the heart! :)

    So was mine for both Venatosaurus and Viergacht, though Faa claims we are insincere. I don't see how you protesting the forum and my computer trouble equate with insincere.

    Anyway, I did not know you were on the forum Katrina? Are you KayKay?

    Well, kudos to you for keeping your apology to Viergacht. I however stand firm in not giving him any more apologies. Not until he gets some major therapy done.

    Katrina is not KayKay, though I do kinda wonder what happened to her. I don't even think Katrina has an account on SE. But in the beginning, I told Katrina about the SE forum and she mentioned she would look in just for fun once in a while.

    KayKay is still on. In fact she stood up for you (sort of) in the fight, saying it was childish to get into a "bitch war". I agree with you completely KayKay, kudos for you. Plus, KayKay kind of sounds like Katrina. See the similarity?

    But anyway, as for the insincere thing...DOES NOT REGISTER, EXTERMINATE, EX-TER-MIN-ATE!

    Ah. Anyway, I hope that Canis tells Venatosaurus about this; none of those three really come in here (Titanomonstrus was the one that told them about the original post anyway), and it appears that is the only way to get the apology to Venatosaurus.

    Well, anyway it's up. I hope he gets it too. I don't know anything about Titanomonstrous, I don't know if he is the type that only dwells on the negative or what. But somehow I do hope Venatosaurus sees this message.

    nope i'm not kaykay. i don't even go into the spec forum that much and i've never posted. i just lurk. but i haven't been in since johnfaa started that war with canis lupus about timgal. titanomonstrous could just be a troublemaker. i don't know he hasn't been in that forum when i've looked in.

    It is indeed wonderful news, and both interesting and plausible. I don't see why people are so averse to having carnivorous ungulates in their future scenarios, as there have been many groups of carnivorous ungulates in the past, such as the entelodonts, mesonychids (who are now thought to be the sister group of the artiodactyl+whale clade, not the ancestors), and early whales themselves. Not to mention that in addition to duikers; chevrotains, peccaries, pigs, and even deer (yes, deer) take meat in their diet.

    They already have. Back during the Oligocene-Miocene of North America, the apex predators were entelodonts, seriously bad-ass peccary cousins.

    Not really. Peccaries and entelodonts are probably closer related to each other than either is to pigs. They both arose at about the same time and the same place, so it isn't too hard to see a common ancestor between entelodonts and peccaries, but not pigs. The only reason why "Walking With Prehistoric Beasts" and other media calls them "killer pigs" is that no one knows what a peccary really is, pig is more well known to the viewing public.

 I admit, I cannot take credit for naming the island of Lemuria. That was Dougal Dixon's idea I believe. But it was a good enough name that I decided to use it in my Metazoic project. New Changes to Old Names

 Well, I kinda got a burst of inspiration from working on the Australian bush foxes yesterday. So, I've been working on my checklist for Metazoica. I thought it was proper to add the other foxes to the canine family in the Metazoic, because to be honest with you, I don't believe foxes are going anywhere. There's a slight difference. There are 4 genera of foxes, instead of simply using the one that is classified today. I divided the genus Vulpes into 4 separate genera. I'm using not only Vulpes (northern forest foxes), but also Fennecus (for old world desert foxes), Neocyon (for American prairie foxes) and Alopex for the arctic and corsac foxes. Then, of course I added Urocyon , which is a genus currently in use today for the gray foxes. I also added a few species of my own to these genera. How Cities Affect Evolution

 I saw this video tonight and thought it was interesting enough to talk about here. This film focuses on anole lizards in Puerto Rico that live in forests and now are becoming specially adapted to urban life. This herpetologist has looked at these city anoles and noticed some adaptations they have as opposed to their forest living relatives. Since this is a site where we hope to learn about evolution, I thought it was important to learn about how cities affect the process of evolution. This can also help any upcoming speculative biologists understand how evolution goes. Actually, evolution can go any way. It all depends on a lot of things. This just happens to talk about animals that evolved to live in big city environments. And it's not just in Puerto Rico this can happen. It can happen in ANY city in the world.
